Filetto's East Northport
About This Spot
Filetto's East Northport invites you into a familiar and warmly lit space where the hum of conversation mingles softly with the crackle of its historic wood-burning oven. The atmosphere feels both spirited and inviting, a neighborhood cornerstone where the pace slows just enough to savor good food and easy company. Whether you’re dropping in for a quick slice or settling in for a more leisurely meal, the rhythm here carries the quiet reassurance of a place where simple pleasures are celebrated thoughtfully.
Stepping through the door, the aroma of freshly baked pizzas and rich simmering sauces offers an immediate welcome. The lively yet unhurried environment hints at the care folded into every dish—from the tender strands of handmade pasta to the vibrant, just-right tomato sauce that defines their brick oven margherita. It’s the kind of spot where kitchen rituals happen in plain sight, and the staff’s attentive yet unobtrusive presence makes you feel seen without fuss.
At Filetto’s, the menu feels less like a list and more like a collection of local stories told through food. A shared love for authentic Italian traditions shines through the comforting layers of baked pasta or the crisp, beloved Grandma pizza, each bite offering subtle traces of flour dust, fresh mozzarella, and carefully balanced herbs. The seafood bisque, a favorite among regulars, offers a moment of quiet indulgence, while the everyday warmth of classics like chicken and veal parmigiana invite you to linger a little longer.
It’s a place where the joys of food and friendship intertwine naturally—the easy smiles of the staff, the familiar nods of repeat guests, and the satisfying weight of a perfectly cooked crust all come together to make Filetto’s more than just a meal. It’s a local refuge where the specialness of simple, well-made Italian food quietly unfolds, one delicious moment at a time.

Margarita pizza: Dough: 4/5 - favorite pizza dough is just flour, water, salt, and yeast - this had a touch of oil in it I believe. Overall still good, thin, and adequately cooked. Was quite floppy in the middle though, which to be fair, may be related to being thrown into a box right after cooking. Sauce: 5/5 fresh and slightly tangy pure tomato sauce Cheese: 4.5/5 good fresh moz with, I think, a little low moisture moz as well which I appreciated. Good amount and adequately cooked with nice coloring. Other: right amount of basil and a touch of dried herbs to add flavor. Constructive criticism: While they advertise brick oven pizza, mine was cooked in a commercial oven. I think they did throw it into their brick oven for a minute at the end, but definitely would prefer it a bit longer with the wood fire to get that charred taste. Also might help the floppy crust. Overall enjoyable, better than average in the area, and I will likely return.

The food is incredible! Homemade sauce and mozzarella. Yes, they make the mozzarella fresh here, as well as the pizza dough. A real wood burning oven adds that special flavor . Best wood burning pizza on Long Island. The only thing better than the food is the staff. My waitress Jenna made me feel special with a smile. Alex made my pizza special for me and brought it to my table.

If your having a couple of slices they don't want you to sit at a table even if the place is completely empty. Service at the counter is fast and they do say hello when you enter but table Service does not come with a smile. Food is good but use to be better and potions were bigger. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are maintained

Me and my husband are absolutely in LOVE with the brick oven margherita pie. Every Friday night he brings home the pizza for us to share. The staff are always kind and patient, even when the place is super busy. And the penne fiorentina is out of this world!

A neighborhood casual, Italian, restaurant for dining in or take out meals. I don't live in the area but make it a point to stop in whenever I'm passing through. Consistently good food over the years and a great friendly staff. Comfortable open seating with a variety of booths and tables. Saturday night music is a real treat. Some of the best pizza you'll ever have. Plenty of parking, easy access. Give it a try. Update: We decided to visit Richie since he was such a great host. Turns out that this Italian restaurant was trying an Octoberfest menu for a few weekends and it was fantastic! German food that was prepared to perfection. We had salad, chicken liver and bockwurst appetizers, potato leek and beer soup, and a huge portion of the most delicious Wiener schnitzel all chased down with some wine and beer. We'll be back to try out some of the other specialties before the month ends. By the way, Jenna is a top notch waitress.
